2014 - Became the City of Hermosa Beach's official host for international athletes from Belgium and Belize for the Special Olympics World Games at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

OVER THE YEARS:  Staffed the beer garden at Fiesta to raise funds for the Chamber of Commerce as well as local non-profits; Sponsored several Ambassadorial Scholars; Hosted and housed GSE visitors; Awarded scholarships to international communities in need; Awarded scholarships to 8th grade students at both HVS and OLG; Sponsored the creation of the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club, Partnered on projects with the Hermosa Beach Historical Museum, Friends of the Parks, Kiwanis, Woman's Club and Veteran's Memorial and more;  Continue to use our Rotary building as a Youth Building, Community Building and as a fund-raiser.

Hermosa Beach Rotary sponsors the Certified Farmers Market. In addition to supporting our community, the market provides substantial funding for our Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)3, which we use to financially support these projects.

We offer an effective network of people who serve our local communities and people in need throughout the world.  Historically, Rotary was the first service club.  Formed in Chicago by successful businessmen who wanted to make a difference, round table formats intended an equal voice for all. Rotary International now has 1.4 million members- people of action around the world- solving problems large and small for people in need.  Fun fact, it was Rotary that mobilized in the early 80's to eradicate Polio - flash forward to 2019, it utilized its worldwide network to respond to COVID-19 as well as staffing food banks.
