Please join The Beach Cities Symphony and Maestro Arlette Cardenes as they recognize and celebrate the Music Teachers Association of California South Bay Chapter competition winners.  Each winner will perform solos with the symphony and receive the Bob Peterson Memorial Scholarship Award from The Hermosa Beach Rotary Foundation.  

Winning artists for 2026 are: Andrew Choi (15), Saya Nishimra (17), Oscar Zhang (10) and Sophoia Zhang (16)

At the Hermosa City Council Meetin July 28, Hermosa Rotary will present to HBPD our check funding the purchase of an armored vest for Arco, HBPD's K9 Officer.

Meetings are in the Council Chambers at City Hall starting at 6:00pm.

Even if you’ve visited Hermosa’s wonderful Historic Museum in the past, there is so much more to see, including an array of historic photos, a huge tribute to our town’s rich surfing culture and much more.  Join us for wine and cheese from 5:00-6:30 on September 22, when  a docent from the Hermosa Beach Historical Society will guide us through all of the treasures!   Parking is free!

Wine and bites will be served.  Members are encouraged to invite guests.  $20 per person.

Pumpkins In The Park is the annual family fun time produced by Friends of The Parks at Edith Rodaway Park at Prospect and Hollowell Ave.  Hermosa Rotary will again be serving pizza slices so we are looking for volunteers.  Please contact Jody if you are interested.  Set-up begins at 10am.   The event is 11-1.

Hermosa Rotary again will be grilling hot dogs at the annual Hermosa Valley School Halloween Carnival.  Volunteers are needed to serve all the hungry ghosts and goblins.  Contact Jenn Floto for a time slot.

In a repeat of 2025, our official District Governor Visit will be a combined meeting with Redondo Beach Rotary. Wednesday, October 28, noon, at Riviera Cantina at King Harbor.  Members are encouraged to bring guests.   Registration is requested.

Hermosa Beach Rotary is a long time sponsor, now in Bob Peterson's memory, of this wonderful community orchestra who perform free classical music concerts. They now perform on Sunday late afternoons (5pm) at Redondo High School Auditorium.  Please join us in celebrating their 77th Seasan with Arlette Cardenes as Music Director and Conductor.

Of special note is the 4th concert of the season (06/13/2027) where the young winners of the MTAC soloist competition (Artists of the Future) will perform with the orchestra.  They also will receive from Hermosa Rotary the Robert Peterson Memorial Scholarship Award.
