Rotary prioritizes the month of March for clean water and sanitation. More than a basic necessity, when people, especially children, have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, they lead healthier and more successful lives.
Rotary does not just build wells and walk away. Vetted projects are well managed within the communities to integrate education about hygiene and sanitation, as well as to provide the tools and techniques to manage and maintain. When parents and their children learn about disease transmission and practice good hygiene, families avert waterborne illnesses, babies thrive and school-aged children are able to attend more school days.
