The Rotary Club of Hermosa partners with the LA Sparks to empower young girls to play basketball. The club is sponsoring Inglewood’s girls youth basketball team- the fabulous South Bay Lady Mambas!
In keeping with Hermosa Beach Rotary's longstanding tradition of supporting Youth activities throughout the community, it has announced it's partnership with the LA Sparks women's basketball team in a new program called Adopt-A-Team. Many kids do not have a place to play basketball. Several surrounding local communities throughout Los Angeles need help to provide leadership and safe access to open space, basketball courts and/or gyms. Many communities lack facilities or access to learn the game and/or to simply get out and shoot hoops. This program offers an array of healthy benefits to young women and girls in our local Los Angeles communities to learn the game and experience sportsmanship through the leadership of the LA Sparks Adopt-A-Team program. Communities and coaches who are interested in putting together their own teams may apply for financial support through this program and matched with financial partners like the Hermosa Beach Rotary. The girls will get additional exposure to watch professional basketball at the Staples Center- home of the LA SPARKS.
